CO-OWNER AND GENERAL DENTIST

Dr. Brett Hawley

Dr. Brett Hawley is an Ottawa native. He grew up in Kinburn, a small town west of Ottawa, where you can find Dr. Hawley helping his parents on the farm during strawberry season.

Brett attended the University of Ottawa, where he received both his Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in biochemistry.

He then went on to the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University in London, Ontario to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. His Master’s thesis was based on studying proteomic maps in cells mimicking Alzheimer’s disease.

Brett loves to be involved with his community. He was the director of Oral Health Total Health in London, a non-profit organization with a mission to advocate, educate and improve the oral health care for persons with special needs. He was an executive of the Student Professionalism and Ethics Association of Schulich in dental school. He captained the Western Mighty Dents hockey team and organized its championship game and fundraiser. Brett has also spent time volunteering with the CHEO emergency department, the Ottawa Hospital rehabilitation centre and the IMTI program for children with autism spectrum disorder.

When Brett is not examining the wonders of his patient’s mouths or volunteering, you can find him enjoying time with his wife Jenna and  two daughter Harper and Wren. You can also find him on the softball field, biking around the city, or in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes. Dr. Hawley loves dentistry and could not imagine doing anything else. He has had a passion and desire to work in the healthcare industry since a young age.
